BARCELONA - Lithuanian teenager Ruta Meilutyte set the women's world 100 metres breaststroke record at the FINA World Championships, clocking 1:04.35 at Palau Sant Jordi.

Meilutyte's time in a semifinal swim beat the 1:04.45 set by Jessica Hardy of the United States on August 2009.
