LONDON - Dana Vollmer of the United States set a new Olympic record of 56.25 seconds in the women's 100 metres butterfly Saturday at Olympic Games here in London.

The previous mark was 56.61, set by Dutch Inge de Bruijn, winning gold at the 2000 Games in Sydney.
