Belmonte set 400m Spanish mark at Olympic trials and with Wildeboer lead the Olympic team

Mireia Belmonte set a new national record for the women's 400m freestyle, at the Spanish Open in Malaga on Sunday.

Belmonte, 21-year-old from swim club Sabadell, won in 4:05.77 ahead of former record holder Melanie Costa (Palma de Mallorca) second with 4:07.08, just 0.06s far from her previous record tha she set at the 2011 Worlds in Shanghai.
