Antwerp has withdrawn as host of the 2012 long-course European championships, according to reliable sources.

It is not yet known which city will become host for the Europeans, although the event is likely to be held on the dates planned, May 14-27, including other aquatic disciplines.

Recently FINA had to find new bidders for the 2013 Worlds after Dubai withdrew. Barcelona is now the host city for the event, while Catania (in the Sicily region, Italy) withdrew from hosting the 2012 world short-course championships.
