JULIUS CAESAR SWAM TO THE RESCUE
Julius Caesar was always looked upon and respected for his prowess as a swimmer; and among other notable instances of his prowess in the water was that occasion, when, on the point of yielding to the attempt of Ptolemy, who had in a treacherous manner attacked him at Alexandria, he threw himself into the sea, and by swimming succeeded in reaching one of his ships; he then returned with his fleet, and in the end Ptolemy was defeated, and Cleopatra proclaimed queen of Egypt. - William Wilson, 1883.
