Maurer, Muhammad Signs Endorsement Deal

Olympic Gold Medalist Lea Maurer renewed and rising star Sabir Muhammad signed individual endorsement deals with the SPEEDO.

Maurer and Muhammad are both represented by Sue Rodin of Stars & Strategies. The New York-based sports management firms clients include Thompson and soccer player Julie Foudy.

Maurer has been a member of Team Speedo since 1995. The seven-time U.S. national champion has an impressive list of achievements, including a gold medal at the 1992 Olympics (400m medley relay). In 1998, she broke her own 5-year-old American record in the 100m backstroke at the World Championships and won a gold and silver medal at the Goodwill Games.

Muhammad will be a member of the 1999 Pan American Games team. He is only the fourth African American to make a U.S. national team. He graduated from Stanford with a 4.0 GPA in International Relations.
