HERNING - Russian Yuliya Efimova Kukors broke the women's 200m breaststroke world record on Friday with a time of 2:14.39 at the European Short-coursre Championships.
The 21-year-old from Grozny shattered the previous world record of 2:14.57, set by US Rebecca Soni at the 2009 Duel in the Pool.
Last month Efimova set the 50 metres breast world record of 28.71 seconds at the FINA World Cup meeting in Tokyo.
The former European record holder, Danish Rikke Moelle Pederesen, placed second in 2:15.21, behind her PB of 2:15.93.

In other highlight, Russia set the new 4x50 Medley Mixed world and European record. The team composed of Vitaly Melnikov, Yuliya Efimova, Svetlana Chimrova and Vladimir Morozov clocked 1:37.63.
