BARCELONA - Italy's Martina Grimaldi and Thomas Lurz of Germany have won the 25km contest at the World Championships on Saturday.

Lurz completed the course in 4h47:27, just 40/100 of a second ahead of Bryan Ryckeman of Belgium. Third was Evgenii Drattchev of Russia in 4h27:28.1.

Grimaldi won the women's event in 5h07:19.7. Angela Maurer touched second by just 10-hundredths and third was Eva Fabian of United States in 5:07:20.4.

Brazil has won the Championships Trophy with 98 points. Germany scored 94 to secure the second place while third are the USA with 65.
