Camille Muffat of France has set a new world short-course record for the women's 400m freestyle at the SC Europeans on Saturday

CHARTRES - Olympic gold medalist Camille Muffat set a short-course world record for the women's 400 metres freestyle at the European championships on Saturday.


She won gold and clocked a time of 3:54.85, breaking the previous mark of 3:54.92 set by Joanne Jackson of Great Britain at British Grand Prix in 2009.
