EILAT - Italy has won the 5km Team Event at the 2011 European Open Water Swimming Championships in Eilat, Israel, on Thursday.

The team composed of Rachele Bruni, Luca Ferretti and Simone Ercoli, clocked 56:12.4.

German team (Rob Mufels, Hendrik Rijkens, Svenja Zihsler) won silver in 57:15.2 while France (Damien Cattin Vidal, Coralie Codevelle, Sebastien Fraisse) took the bronze medal with 57:41.1.
