Dana Vollmer of United States has won the 100 metres butterfly at the FINA world championships tonight

SHANGHAI - Dana Vollmer of United States has won the 100 metres butterfly at the FINA world championships tonight.

Vollmer clocked a time of 56.87 seconds placing ahead of Australian Coutts in 56.94 and Yinh Lu of China with 57.06.

The former world champion and world record holder Sweden' Sarah Sjostrom was 4th in 57.38.

In yesterday semifinals, the American swimmer set a new national record of 56.47sec.
