SHANGHAI - The American team of Andrew Gemmel, Sean Ryan and Ashley Grace Twichell won the gold medal in the 5km Open Water Team Event at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships today.

The USA team won in 57 minutes, 0.6 seconds. Australia (Gorman, Mainstone, Hurst) was second just 1.2s behind and Germany (Wolfgarten, Lurz, Haerle) third in 57:44.2.
