Ireland’s Mc Mahon adds gold in the 400 free. Christian Diener won the 100 backstroke in 55.07 just 0.01 off the European mark set by Laszlo Cseh and the French team wins the 400 relay in record time

BELGRADE – Ireland’s Sycerika Mc Mahon has added a gold medal in the 400 metres freestyle to her 50m breast title at the European junior championships in Serbia.

Germany’s Christian Diener won the men’s 100m backstroke title in 55.07 seconds, just 0.01 off the European junior mark set by Laszlo Cseh, in Glasgow 2003.

Finally the French quartet of Camille Gheorghiu, Assia Touati, Beryl Gastaldello and Charlotte Bonnet wins the 400m free relay in a new european junior record of 3:44.66 (previous, 3:45.27 Germany, Prague 2009).
