Italy's Olympic gold medallist Federica Pellegrini will base herself in Paris to strengthen her bid to become the world’s top 200 metres freestyler.

Pellegrini, 22, split from Stefano Morini last month; she won gold in the 200 metres freestyle and bronze in the 400 free at last year’s European Championships.

She will train in Paris with French coach Philippe Lucas.
