Russia wins men's 4x200 free relay in world record

The Russian team broke the world record to win the men's 4x200m freestyle relay at the short-course world championships in Dubai

DUBAI - The Russian quartet of Nikita Lobintsev, Danila Izotov, Evgeny Lagunov and Alexander Sukhorukkov broke the world record to win the men's 4x200m freestyle relay at the short-course world championships on Friday.

The Russian clocked 6:49.04 seconds, 0.54 seconds faster than second-placed United States.

France picked bronze in 6:53.05, a new national record.

The former world mark was set by Canada at the at the British Grand Prix in Leeds in 2009.
