Alshammar and Pereira win the big prize at the 2010 FINA/ARENA World Cup

With SwimNews. Theresa Alshammar of Sweden won the US$100,000 top prize for the third time (previously in in 2006-2007, and 2008-2009) Alshammar 33, competed in all seven stages this year where she was unbeatable in the 50 fly winning all seven races, won six of seven 100 fly, and was among the top three in the 50 free.

Brazilian Thiago Pereira swept the 400 ind.medley at all seven stops, adding five wins in the 200 individual medley and four in the 100, he also won the 200 fly twice.

It was a first time win in the overall category after finishing third in 2007.

Second worth US$50,000 went to Julia Smit (USA) and Darian Townsend (RSA), third place worth US$30,000 went to Hinkelien Schreuder (NED) and Roland Schoeman (RSA).
