Australians set three Games record in Delhi

DELHI - Australian swimmers set three new competition records at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi on Monday.

Marieke Guehrer clocked 26.07 seconds in the first semi-final of the women's 50m butterfly to break the previous mark of 26.43 (she is the world champion for this event).

Alicia Coutts, 23, won gold in the women's 200 metres individual medley in a record time of 2:09.70 and bettered the previous mark by over 3 seconds, since it was 2:12.90.
Olympic champion Emily Seebohm was second in 2:10.83: "It was a very tough race tonight, all credit to Alicia," said Seebohm. "You've just got to deal with it sometimes."

Finally, the Australian quartet of Kyle Richardson, Eamon Sullivan, Tommaso D'Orsogna and James Magnussen won gold in the final event of the day winning gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay in a Games record of 3:13.92.

Silver went to England in 3:15.05, bronze to the defending champions South Africa in 3:15.21.
