IRVINE - Two-time double Olympic breaststroke champion Kosuke Kitajima marked his return to international competition with victory in the 100 metres breaststroke final at the Pan Pacific championships on Thursday.

Kitajima topped the heats in 59.04 seconds, the fastest time in the wolrd this season, before going on to win the final in 59.35.
