France's Camille Lacourt broke the European record in the men's 100m backstroke at the European championships with a time of 52.11

BUDAPEST - France's Camille Lacourt broke the European record in the men's 100m backstroke at the European championships with a time of 52.11.

The previouis record for this event was set by Germany's Helge Meeuw at last year's Worlds in Rome, swimming the first leg of the 400m medley relay in 52.27.
