Open water, Stoychev and Geijo win in Lac Magog

Petar Stoychev and Pilar Geijo won the 34km Traversée Internationale du LacMemphrémagog

Bulgarian Petar Stoychev won the 34km Traversée Internationale du LacMemphrémagog, the 9th race of the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix, in Québec, Canada on Saturday.

Stoychev, won the fourth race in this year series in a time of 7h38:02.

Local swimmer Simon Tobin took silver in 7h38:45, and Damian Blaum of Argentina was third in 7h38:56s.

The top female finisher was Argentina’s Pilar Geijo in 7h53:36 ahead of compatriot Antonella Bogarin (8h04:24).

The bronze medal went to Esther Nunez Morera of Spain who finished in 8h04m34.

The next race of Swimming Grand Prix will  be held next on Saturday 14 of August in Ohrid Lake (MKD).
