Heister captures 10km European title

Linsy Heister of the Netherlands won the 10km open water race at the European Swimming Championships in Hungary

BUDAPEST – Linsy Heister of the Netherlands won the 10km open water race at the European Swimming Championships on Thursday.

Leister finished in 2 hours, 1 minute, 6.7 seconds, just 0.9 seconds ahead of Giogia Consiglio of Italy. Angela Maurer of Germany was third, 1.5 seconds behind the Dutch swimmer.

Heister, 22, won gold in the 25km at the world champs in Roberval a week ago.
