American teenager Eva Fabian has won the women's 5km Open Water competition at the World Championships in Canada

ROBERVAL - American teenager Eva Fabian has won the women's 5km Open Water competition at the World Championships in Canada.

Fabian, 16, won the 5K at the 2009 Open Water National Championships.

Today, she dominated the competition from start to finish and won gold in a time of 1h02:00.9, ahead of Italy’s Giorgia Consiglio (1h02:01.8) who also won a silver in the 10km race Saturday.

Third was Marcela Ana Cunha of Brazil (1h02:02.6).
