Extended Olympic Swimming Schedule
The extended swimming schedule for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games has been approved. The schedule has been extended from 7 to 8 days by FINA at the request of Australian Swimming in order to allow swimmer Micheal Klim a chance to repeat his 7 event performance from Perth.

This new Olympic schedule will be tested at next summers Pan Pacific championships in Sydney. Klim said recently that he is excited at the opportunity to compete for Australia. This change spreads his events over the 8 days avoiding an overlap.
